For this week’s Throwback Thursday, we’re headed back to 2006 for a picture of the Armstrong’s Motel just south of Staunton, VA. It’s no longer named Armstrong’s, but in the early to mid 1980’s, and probably long before that, this place had an amazing restaurant attached to it. The building is all still there, but I have no idea what has become of the inside of the old restaurant. We stayed there probably 10 times through the years, visiting family in the area. While the adults thought the restaurant had amazing breakfast and especially country ham, I was much more in love with their PB&J sandwiches, as they used crunchy peanut butter, and I never had that at home. The rooms were never much to speak of, but it was better than the Day’s Inn on the other side of the interstate.
