Photo of the Week – Oct 15

This week we have a photo from 2012 that we took in Waverly, TN. Waverly was the home of a horrific train explosion in 1978, which killed 16 people. The names on this marker signify the deaths. The toll it took on this area was devastating. The train had derailed on 2/22/78, and the explosion occurred two days later when they were beginning to transfer liquid propane from a tank car. You can read more about this event here.
